VIA SPRONELLO

Ferrara (Italy)

An innovative residential/commercial project in the heart of the city of Ferrara, a UNESCO heritage site, conceptually organized on the constructive memory that has always characterized the city.
In this location, the composition lays its foundations on the re-proposal of the “formwork” in sequence, typical of Ferrara, which is an architectural module perceptible along the streets of the historic center, in this case proposed in a current reading, where the elements in succession appear formally decomposed in their ground and raised systems in order to amplify their perceptive dynamics.

The fronts, deliberately “blind”, will increase the plastic effect of the whole by concentrating the openings on the free sides, protecting the interior from the street-born noises, this will lead the inhabitants towards new views projected exclusively towards the historic city and its nearby medieval walls.
The intervention is completed by the realization, on the ground floor, of an intimate square dedicated to a catering business, which will enjoy a protected space that refers to the many internal gardens that characterize the entire historic center.
