ORAHOVAC
Orahovac (Montenegro)
This new house is located into a natural landscape with strong values, within the Republic of Montenegro,in some ways yet to be discovered. The Bay of Kotor has a series of deep basins protected from the open sea, which make it look like the most famous Norwegian fjords. Inside the bay, we are almost facing the perception of being in an enclosed sea. In this context, directly in front of the sea, an old (but architecturally uninteresting) farmhouse is demolished to make way for a new parallelepiped-shaped volume, spread over four levels, whose short side is permeable and transparent.
The building is interpreted as a real telescope to the sea by enabling the perception from any point of the internal, where trees run along the vertical dimention, thanks to openings made on the various levels of loft.
The natural elements of water and plants, absolutely dominant in these places, continue to live inside the home as well, in a continuous contact / dialogue with those who live there.
