ROUNDABOUT
Modena (Italy), 2013
The intervention is conceived as a summary of the values of the recycling and reutilization of ceramic scrap materials, and the traditional values that characterize the territory in which it will be located. That way, a composition organized on a strong contextualization supported by a more and more shared and vital thought is born. Almost as due to a random fall, a series of parallelepiped elements of various dimensions (both in section area and in height) are stuck inside the existing roundabout, without a hierarchy, as single elements or a plastic and “permeable” assembly, almost organic, noticeable for its vertical dimension also at great distance
Almost as due to a incidental fall, the elements will find their place apparently “guided” by their own weight and length, creating a roughly natural, yet highly scenographic, distribution. The recall of those elements to the waste ceramics produced during the phases of rectification and tiles-laying is justified by the belief that by the recovery of those products it is possible to discover innovative utilizations and applications able to reduce to the minimum the elimination of usually useless materials.
