LAV-A-BO
This sink collects its origins from the centuries-old history of the process of hand washing, the wash-house, simply consisting of an inclined surface on which the fabrics were repeatedly rubbed with water and soap collected then in a single container and then discharged.
Nothing more is expressed by this object, a perfectly rectangular and lowered container houses inside two opposing plates inclined by the shape and the slope declaredly irregular, these detached from each other, have their backs back to the perimeter so as to seem suspended.
The result is a plastic and almost sculptural image where the shadows generated by the different inclinations and depressions will be the protagonists during the day to exalt in negative, at night, thanks to a minimal LED lighting placed under the plates enhancing the effect of “floating” and lightness.
In this formal dynamic devoted to remembrance and expressed in a minimal way, we tried to standardize and then rationalize the production process to arrive at an original but highly competitive final product, a “common” container tank is thus conceived as a basic element within which it will be possible to place elements of first impact of water of different shape and color, effectively transforming the object into a “system”.
This possibility of customization can then introduce the added value with which each designer (or client) can express their creativity by reducing the costs of the production process to the final product. All this will give way, over the years, also to possible transformations keeping unchanged the basic “module” of the tank.
The suggested material is 9mm-thickness white Starkryl.
